Una is the leader of the Reykjavík Chamber Orchestra and concertmaster in the ISO. She is active as solo and chamber music performer and improvisation artist.
Among her solo concertos with the ISO are Beethoven, Shostakovich nr. 1, Philip Glass nr. 1, Atli Heimir Sveinsson, Páll Ragnar Pálsson and Þuríður Jónsdóttir. She is founding member of Siggi String Quartet and the violin/organ-duo Translations with Arngerður María Árnadóttir. Una has worked closely with Björk, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Atli Heimir Sveinsson.
Una has written for film and theater and in 2025 the Iceland Symphony Orchestra premiered her Vagus Symphony, cowritten with Ólafur Björn Ólafsson for the Icelandic Love Corporation. She currently works on her 3rd string quartet, Vatnasvíta. Other works include Lullaby (2016), Gátt (2017), Missir and El Desnudo (2018). Her album Umleikis with her solo pieces for violin was out in 2014 and her album LAST SONG was out on Sono Luminus in 2021. String Quartet no. 1 Opacity is featured on the quartet’s debut album South of the Circle, on Sono Luminus 2019. Her new album has ten of her favourite solo violin pieces, mostly written by various icelandic composers, the title work being her most recent composition Ea Fantasia.
